RECAP
After four challenges in the Last Man Standing competition, the field of sixteen has whittled down to just nine. Martina Richards was the first to go, after the Leap of Faith challenge. Nick Danger followed suit after an injury he obtained in the Breaking News Challenge. A few more names took their exit when they failed to appear for a charity event. For whatever reason, Brooke Blakely, CJ O’Donnell, Crystal Hilton are officially out. Only nine remain.
During the first four challenges, the Blue Team proved to be the more cohesive unit. Scoring higher in every event. Though, none of that matters now, as the competition has shifted to become an individual effort. Based on the performances we’ve seen so far, we have a good idea on who are the contenders and who are the pretenders. With two more events on the agenda tonight and only a month until the finale, things are about to get intense.

COLD OPEN - THE CURTAIN CALL
LMS Compound Docks - 8:00 am
The sun paints a tropical morning sky in hues of pink and orange as the tranquil waters of Anywhere Island gently cradle a two-story dinner cruise ship, docked in the bay, just outside of the LMS Compound. On the wooden pier, standing in a white linen pants and matching shirt, is the enigmatic host of the show and the mind behind THIS IS AWESOME PROMOTIONS, the Sauce Boss. He radiates a mischievous energy on this early Sunday morning event. Opposing him is a field of athletic hopefuls, dressed in casual island wear, just as their invitations had instructed. They have no idea what they’re in store for. Neither do you.
"Saucey Greetings, Challengers!" he exclaims, his authoritative voice carrying across the vacant windy bay with a tone that makes a few stand a little straighter. "Welcome to the next challenge in the Last Man Standing extravaganza!"
A round of optimistic and curious clapping ensues from the challengers.
"I want to express my deepest gratitude for the dedication and resilience that each of you have demonstrated so far throughout this competition. You've faced challenges, conquered fears, and showcased your unique strengths. Thank you for sharing a piece of yourself with me.”
“Now for a few formalities. I’m sure you’ve noticed that we are missing a few people. Martina Richards, Nick Danger, Crystal Caldwell, CJ ODonnell, Brooke Blakely, Cherry Cola. Each of them have left our competition. Mind you that we didn’t eliminate any of them. We’ve lost them due to attrition. Scheduling conflicts, injuries, private matters, and in the case of Cherry Cola, we’ve been informed this morning that she’s been detained by local authorities and is being accused of several crimes of which I’m not at liberty to discuss. I wish her the best in her future endeavors. Regardless, all of this is to be expected as this industry has a very high attrition rate. But I look out here today and see each of you brave souls, back for more. Today is a new day, and with it comes a fresh set of surprises. I hope you’ve brought an appetite for glory.”
A sneaky glint sparkles in his smile as he continues, "Now, before we set sail into the unknown, I have a few important questions for each of you. First of all, is there anyone here who can’t swim?”
No hands.
“Great. And are any of you prone to seasickness?" A sly grin plays on his lips as he surveys the group.
No hands go up for that question either.
“Ah, excellent! We have some delectable surprises waiting for you on board and wouldn’t want any of you missing out on the fun. That brings me to my final question. In the challenge invitation, you were told that breakfast would be served. Did any of you ignore that advice and have breakfast anyway?" Sauce Boss chuckles at his hangry competitors, well aware that a well-fed competitor is a happier competitor.
No one admits to a stealthy breakfast on this day.
With a theatrical sweep of his arm, he gestured toward the awaiting cruise ship. "Well, in that case, my fearless challengers, today I will be your boat captain, welcome aboard The Curtain Call pleasure cruise ship. The sea beckons, and who knows what awaits you on the horizon. Let the next challenge of Last Man Standing begin!"
—---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CHALLENGE #5
CHIN MUSIC
The dinner cruise ship gently rocks on the Caribbean waves, the rising sun casting a warm glow over the vessel. On the bottom deck, a long table is laden with several sets of expensive dishware. A digital clock with 10 minutes and 00 seconds is prominently displayed in the center of the wall between several long windows. The eight challengers, eager and competitive, after having eyed the first level of the boat, have gathered around the seating area, their eyes fixed on the host who appears ready to explain the rules.
Sauce Boss, with a mischievous grin, touches the fingertips of each hand to the matching ones on the other. "Ladies and gentlemen, before we get started. Please have a seat at the table in one of the chairs provided.”
Jacoby Spencer hurries to one of the two center seats, then offers it up to one of the female competitors first. The rest of the field hesitates and lets him sit down. Once they’re all convinced the chairs aren’t death traps, the rest of the group fills in. Candice Page takes the other center seat to the right of Spencer. He’s followed by Zara Ivory and then Penelope Plimmswood and Eli Buchanan. All five Blue Team members, not in a pecking order, but certainly in a united front against the challenge. In the other three seats at the far end of the long table, Jessie Lee is the first to sit down, intentionally sitting in the middle of the three seats. Selena Frost appears irritated by Jessie’s choice, knowing that she has no choice but to sit next to her rival. Daniela Raye Weathers makes the choice for her as she sits next to Jacoby Spencer, second from the middle of the table. Selena Frost sits on the end. Jessie Lee gives her a sh*t-eating grin as she adjusts her bra. “I’m so hungry I could eat a dingo.” Selena just rolls her eyes.
Saucey explains, “My family made its fortune selling an American staple food product. A food that’s synonymous with the very principles of the country that provided our family the freedom to build a business from the ground up and to feed the nation nutritious and good tasting food. Apple sauce. Please hold your applause. On this day, on this luxurious boat, with some of the most talented people I know, I want to celebrate the holiday of Thanksgiving with a feast of our own to honor the traditions, competitive spirit, and culinary excellence of the greatest nation in the world. Thanksgiving is a time for friends, and for family. I think of you as my friends and I hope you share that sentiment.”
With that said, several servers emerge from behind a wooden door, each dressed in matching crew uniforms, and holding a silver food tray with a domed cover. They approach the long table and in unison, each place their tray in front of the competitors and wait. The competitors look at each other to gauge each other's reactions. Then, with a flourish, the waiters remove the lids at the same time, revealing today’s meal. One just as American as apple pie… a heaping pile of plain hotdogs, nested in artisan rolls.
Saucey begins talking immediately upon the reveal. “Boys and girls, it's time for a gastronomic feat! When this clock starts you have precisely 10 minutes to devour as many hotdogs as you can. Before any of you ask, yes, you must eat the frank and the bun. Yes, those of you who are vegetarian have been provided non-meat options. And yes, if you vomit, you are eliminated.” Just then the boat’s engines kick into high gear and the ship begins to rock a little more consistently.
“The sea can be a tricky mistress. Enjoy your meal. And try not to ruin those lovely outfits you’re all wearing today."
Before the buzzer starts and the clock starts, condiments and cups of water are brought to the tables. The eight challengers, eager and competitive, focus their eyes fixed on the savory challenge before them.
BRRRTTT!!! And we are off!
The challengers go wide-eyed as they grab hotdog and buns.. The aroma of grilled sausages filled the air, and the competition commences with a chorus of snarly growls.
For the first few minutes, the challengers attack the hotdogs with gusto. The boat's gentle swaying adds an extra layer of challenge, but they push through, determined to claim victory in this peculiar contest. Sauce Boss cheers them on, relishing the spectacle unfolding before him. “Looking good so far folks. Hard to tell how many you’ve eaten so far, but Eli looks like he hasn’t eaten in days! Jessie, do they even have hotdogs in Australia? Who here asked for a fork and a knife? Normally I’d say yes, but I don’t know how I feel about giving you lot weapons during a competition.”
As the clock ticks away, the relentless assault on hotdogs began to take its toll. The combination of the boat's motion and the growing fullness in their bellies created a volatile mix. One by one, the challengers' expressions shifts from determination to discomfort. They begin to get creative.
Selena Frost puffs out her cheeks after her fifth hotdog, choking down more processed meat than she’s had in months. She covers her mouth and turns her head away just in case she loses her composure. Jessie Lee takes the opportunity to take two of her own hotdogs off of her plate and plop them onto Selena’s with some smooth sleight of hand. Daniela witnesses the act with a judging side eye, but keeps focused on her plate.
Jacoby Spencer has a hand on his own forehead, fighting off the meat sweats, trying to convince himself to keep going, the makeup that he painstakingly applied this morning to enhance his shocking look, smearing over his face. Candice Page, business mogul, and wrestling legend, who’s had many family meals much like this one, works at a steady pace, amused by Jacoby’s misery, and self aware of the ridiculous situation she finds herself in. Zara Ivory, keeps to herself, methodical in her approach, capable of eating much more than she looks like. And to her right, Penelope Plimmswood continues. At first she refused to eat, but upon seeing Eli Buchanan take such a lead over her, she eventually joins in. At this point, now that all of the competitors have hit the food wall, she’s caught up with them. With only a couple minutes left, Eli Buchanan is at a complete stop. He may be returning the rented meal back to the ship at any moment.
The boat turns hard and In a scene that can only be described as both chaotic and comical, the challengers grapple with the urge to vomit. Some clutch their stomachs, others fought back the rising tide with desperate sips of water. The boat's rocking turns into a nauseating dance, and the challengers struggle to maintain their composure. The Sauce Boss finds it hilarious.
Soon, the inevitable happens. A challenger, I’m not saying which one, succumbs to the churning sea within, and the domino effect commences. The identity of patient zero isn’t really important. What is important is that the once-competitive atmosphere turns into a symphony of retches and splatters as hotdog-eating warriors became unwitting participants in a sea of regurgitation. Some of the challengers get sick on each other, one in particular does so intentionally. Others who would have held down their lunch are repulsed by the developing scene and can’t resist contributing to the fray. By the time it’s over, a few of the competitors have hit the floor, ruining their island outfits and covered in bits of American culinary excellence.
Sauce Boss, ever the showman, gives up on containing his laughter as the clock hits zero. BRRRTTT!!! Everyone freezes in place, no man or woman, unsoiled. The ship’s engines go quiet and the boat comes to a stop as waves crash into its sides. The challengers appear unamused. "Well, folks, I must say, this little vomit voyage went pretty much how I expected it. Bravo to each of you brave competitors. I want you to know that I appreciate your ability to embrace the unexpected and show a moment of humility with such gusto! I think we all need to laugh at ourselves once in a while.”
The waiters return with white towels and hand them to each of the passengers. The challengers, now a mixture of laughter and embarrassment, wipe their faces and share glances of camaraderie amid the aftermath of the hotdog-induced storm.
Sauce Boss delivers his final judgement on the challenge. “Seeing as how everyone, including myself, failed to keep down their breakfast. Let’s call this event a no contest.”
Confused looks wash across the faces of the angry competitors.
“So, what do we do now? I mean, we didn’t come all the way out here for nothing. What do you say we move on to the second competition of the day?”
The waiters return with neatly folded ring gear and wrestling shoes for each of the competitors.
“Please clean yourselves up, hydrate, put on your ring gear, and meet me on the upper deck of the ship in 15 minutes.”
Final Results:
NO CONTEST
—---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CHALLENGE #6
BOATLE ROYALE
The aftermath of the hotdog-eating debacle left the BOTTOM deck of the dinner cruise in a state of mild chaos. Sauce Boss, reveling in the unexpected turns of the Last Man Standing adventure, seizes the moment to introduce yet another twist to the challengers. After a cleanup and a wardrobe change, each of the challengers make their way to the top of the ship. What they find up there is unexpected. A makeshift fighting ring at the end of the ship.
"Ladies and gents, I hope you've saved a bit of energy because our next challenge awaits! Welcome to your next challenge!" he declares, a wicked gleam in his eyes.
The challengers, recovering from their recent traumatic experience, exchange glances and begin to smile at the prospect of finally being able to get their hands on eachother, now fully aware that the sea breeze carries not just the scent of grilled sausages but the promise of an impending showdown.
“Here’s how this challenge is going to work. We’re going to have ourselves a little battle royale. But in this case, there are no ropes. There’s only a boat. Your goal is to be the last challenger standing. Do whatever you have to to get your opponents up and over the railing and into the water.” The waiters from below return once more, this time with zip up life jackets in their arms. They hand them to each of the challengers who begin to put them on.
“You will be ranked in this event by the order in which you hit the water. And just in case you’ve already had enough of today, I should warn you that the place in which you finish this event will give you a distinct advantage throughout the rest of the competition. You DO NOT want to sandbag your performance right now. So, play nice. Hang on and I’ll see you all back at the docks.”
The challengers, fueled by a mix of competitive spirit and irritation, circle each other warily, and all look up for the fight. Selena Frost, the points leader so far, seems to be catching the most attention. BRRRTTT!!! The bell sounds.
The first move is made by Eli Buchanan, a powerhouse with a background in amateur wrestling. He lunges at Selena Frost, attempting to hoist her over the railing and into the dark waters below. Selena, not one to be outdone, retaliates with a swift kick to Eli's midsection.
The situation devolves into a series of chaotic skirmishes. Zara Ivory and Candice Page form a temporary alliance, trying to eliminate larger threats. Daniela Raye-Weathers, known for her athleticism, expertly dodges their attacks while retaliating with quick strikes.
Selena Frost, displaying a surprising agility herself, manages to evade Eli's attempts to throw her overboard. The boat rocks with the combined force of the entire skirmish, creating an additional challenge for the combatants. Selena escapes just to be dropped to the deck by Jessie Lee, that scoundrel.
Saucey, cheers and jeers as the challengers fight for dominance as the dull slapping of meat on meat reminds him of all the battles he’s witnessed over the last two years. There’s a chance he may miss this after all.
Zara and Candice continued their combined efforts, sticking to their team loyalties. Daniela delivers the Venezuelan Dream (spear) and completely flattens Zara Ivory. Impressive. But she’s left her guard open and Candice Page casts a little Black Magic (spinning kick) of her own. Daniela takes it flush and is roller skates now. Candice picks her up into a fireman’s carry and dumps her over the rail. Daniela rips out a chunk of fire engine red hair on the way down, but is ultimately the first to hit the water. One down.
Across the battlefield, in a turn of events, Jacoby Spencer abandons his role as the defacto blue team leader by targeting one of his own by executing a spectacular scorpion death drop on Eli Buchanan. He picks Eli up and whips him perilously close to the railing. With a final push, Jacoby elevates Eli and tosses him over. Jacoby turns his back to the man and waits for the splash, but he doesn’t hear one. Instead, he takes a boot to the face from Penelope Plimmswood and staggers backwards towards the rail. Behind him, Eli Buchanan, who skinned the cat and held on, is climbing back on top of the rail. Penelope considers pushing both men overboard, but relents and lets them sort eachother out. Eli gets the upper hand and flips Jacoby backwards plunging him into the water. Penelope just shrugs as Eli gives her a nod of approval. Two down.
Jessie Lee is going to war with Selena Frost. A familiar sight for those of you who have followed the rivalry since Jessie won the TIA Women’s Championship earlier this year at the Denzel Porter Invitational. Jessie has Selena Frost pinned belly down and is cranking on her neck. The Saucy Aussie can’t help talking trash the entire time as Frost winces in pain. She’s looking to wear down her opponent, and it’s working, but you can’t eject someone from a boat while pinning them down. Jessie releases the hold, shoving Selena’s face down into the wood floor. She cracks her knuckles and paces around ready to drop the BOOM! (superman punch). She waits for Frost to get to her own feet.
Zara Ivory and Candice Page lock onto their new target. Team Red’s Dommy Mommy herself, Jessie Lee. Then run at her with a coordinated double clothesline. Lee goes *ss-over-teakettle and is a crumbled heat. Led by Page, they deliver blows on the downed opponent, moving quickly and pulling her back up to her feet. Selena Frost regains her footing in the background. She charges the pile, in a surprise attack, and delivers a Glass Shard (superkick) to the jaw of Candice Page!
At the same time, Eli Buchanan and Penelope turn on their team roots and go to work on Zara Ivory. A Leucotomy (kinshasa) to the face of Zara to make her see stars and then a Fireball (literally spits flames) to the face of Zara from Eli Buchana. They laugh in unison like members of Team Rocket, but have made one small miscalculation. Jessie Lee is back to her feet and she attacks Penelope with the BOOM! (superman punch). But no! Penelope parries the punch, shoving Lee into the rails. Eli grabs a leg. Penny grabs a leg. Zara grabs a leg. (I know that’s too many legs but stay with me). And Jessie Lee goes overboard, grasping for a lifeline before ragdolling and plunging into the drink. That’s three down.
Candice Page and Selena Frost engage in a bit of chain wrestling, trading moves and holds in a classic grappling match for an audience of two. They trade blow for blow, wearing each other down, dehydrated, and bruised. They lock in in a test of strength when Selena stops and appeals to Zara’s strategic side. “Hear me out. Eli and Penelope have to be split up. It doesn’t matter what team we were on, if we don’t split them up, they’re going to win.” Conceding the stalemate, Zara relents and the two turn towards the duo from Hotel California.
Zara Ivory is passed back and forth from Penelope to Eli, taking shots to the stomach and to the back. She puts up a good fight but can’t defend the flanking attacks. Eli shoots down for a single leg and props Ivory up on the rail. Ivory holds on tight, refusing to let go. That’s when the cavalry arrives. Frost and Page get under Eli Buchanan and prop Eli up on the same rail. Eli panics, delivering wild kicks and abandoning the campaign to eliminate Ivory. Penelope relents to come to the aid of Buchanan, but Ivory doesn’t let her go so easily. She grabs Plimmswood from behind and locks in a rear naked choke, immobilizing her.
Page and Frost complete their attack, driving Buchanan over the edge of the rail. He drops down, hanging onto the rail, again, and dangling from the side of the sea vessel. Frost hammers on his fingers. Page pries them off one at a time. His pupils become pinpoints as realization sets in. Eli is going to fall. Page looks at Frost, considers what the next play is, then goes back to Buchanan to deliver the final effort. And just like that, Eli Buchanan is plummeting towards the water. Four down.
Zara Ivory watches the whole scene play out. The second that she hears the splash, she releases Penelope and backs off to a corner of the fighting space. Four challengers left. All women. Each of them creates some distance. They size each other up, looking for any discerning action to single eachother out. Eyes connect. An agreement is made. And just like that, Candice Page, Zara Ivory, and Penelope Plimmswood are attacking the Snow Queen, Selena Frost. Three on one doesn’t seem like fair odds, but with Selena being in first place and the only remaining member of the red team it’s enough to put a target on her chest. The three cautiously approach Frost, cutting off her escape routes. But despite Frost’s ingenuity and instincts she’s unable to escape. Penelope attacks first and is counter punched by Frost. But Candice Page’s advance is clean and sends Selena Frost onto her rear.
Candice drops a knee across Frost’s stomach to pin her down. That gives Ivory and Plimmswood enough time to tie up Frost’s limbs. On a normal day, Frost would have been able to fight off the three of them, but not today. She’s exhausted and fighting on a sour stomach and the three women are able to completely yeet her over the railing, in the gentlest way possible for such a nice lady. Five down.
Saucey stands by as the three way match between Candice Page, Zara Ivory, and Penelope Plimmswood is a virtual rochambeau. Page attacks Ivory. Penelope attacks Page. Ivory attacks Penelope. Wash, Rinse, Repeat. They want this win badly and refuse to give an inch. But in the end, it’s Page that cracks first. It’s not skill that costs her the challenge, it’s her gas tank. Page drives Zara Ivory to the hardwood with a stiff DDT. She takes a bit of an awkward landing in the process and Penelope is there to capitalize. She pulls Candice’s head back and drops her with a reverse DDT that puts her out cold. By the time Plimmswood is up to her feet, Ivory is right there with her, but Ivory doesn’t have the energy to make a play and lets Plimmswood drag Page to the end of the boat. Penelope looks to Ivory. “Little help?” Zara Ivory doesn’t respond, she just helps, boosting Page over the edge and watching as boat staff hurries to pull Page from the water. Six down.
Penelope Plimmswood enters a blood frenzy, transitioning right from her elimination of Page into an attack on Ivory. She moves to catch Zara off guard and takes on a momentary advantage. Penelope charges wildly, looking to overwhelm Zara Ivory, but Zara predicts the move. In a swift and calculated move, she seizes Penelope by the arm, rolling with the momentum. And in a forceful twist, Zara expertly manipulates the situation, causing Penelope to stumble perilously close to the rails.
Plimmswood fights back, but is simply overpowered by her larger opponent. Zara uses her superior size to capitalize on the precarious position, driving her shoulder into Penelope's midsection. The impact sent shockwaves through Penelope's frame, her balance teetering on the brink. With one final surge of determination, Zara executes a perfectly timed hip toss, leveraging her opponent's vulnerability. Penelope, caught off guard, hurtles over the ship's railing, her body disappearing into the crystal waters below.
The Sauce Boss erupts in a mix of gasps and cheers as Penelope's elimination is sealed and the challenge concludes. Zara, panting but triumphant, stands alone on the deck. The sea breeze carries the echoes of victory.

EPILOGUE
Back on the docks, The challengers wait, wet and wrapped in beach towels, many of them unhappy with the course of today’s events, none of them glizzy-hungry. This was officially the worst dinner cruise of their lives. Sauce Boss, a satisfied grin on his face, approached the challengers.
"Ladies and gentlemen, let's give a round of applause to our Battle Royale champion, Zara Ivory!" Sauce Boss declares, gesturing toward the victorious challenger amid the group. Zara is a bit embarrassed by the unwanted attention. There’s a fair amount of envy among the crowd and that’s to be expected.
"Spectacular performance today, gang! You've proven yourselves in the heat of battle, and for that, you each stand as champions in my eyes." Sauce Boss commends, cutting onions. "This dinner cruise, with all its unexpected twists, has become one of my favorite moments for THIS IS AWESOME PROMOTIONS.”
