The camera opens to a brunette sitting in a red sofa-chair, her smile bright.
Winters: Hello, World Series of Wrestling! Jessica Winters of Supreme Championship Wrestling, and my guest for this special interview is none other…
The camera backs up to reveal the smiling platinum-blonde sitting in an identical chair beside Winters. Unlike Jessica, who wears a black pantsuit, this woman is dressed in a dark blue gown with a white faux-fur lining around the tops of her arms and chest. The rest of the gown is decorated in rhinestones that make the shape of snowflakes.
Winters: The Snow Queen, Selena Frost. Selena, thank you for allowing me to come here to interview you.
Selena smiles at her old friend.
Selena: I couldn’t really think of anyone else I wanted.
Winters: Well, let’s dive right into it, shall we?
Winters adjusts her top a little, crossing one leg over the other.
Winters: You actually started with the WSOW at its inception. I guess my first question is, after doing so well in the first series, why come back to the second?
The Snow Queen takes a deep breath before answering.
Selena: Well, Jessica, last season, I was invited at the urging of Supreme Championship Wrestling. They wanted me to represent the company – we… or SCW… brags about being all about ‘Supreme Championship Wrestling’ and a ‘leader in sports-entertainment’… and yet so many people didn’t know anything about them? A lot hadn’t even heard of SCW. And I desperately wanted to change that. So that was my goal last season.
Winters: And what has changed since then?
The platinum-blonde lifts her eyes to look up at Jessica.
Selena: Well, the fact I am no longer with the company. And I realized that was something worthwhile for me too. This was an opportunity to show what I am capable of without SCW. Without SCW backing me. To stand tall – be the Last WOMAN standing – as just myself. As Selena Frost.
Winters: I see. So SCW has no association with this.
Selena: Beyond you, Sharper and Knots showing up in these last few events at my request? Nothing.
Winters: And how has that been for an experience, Selena? To be on your own?
Selena: It has been… difficult. Trying to stand on my own two feet knowing that no one would catch me if I fell. It’s made every event be… well… ‘do or die’ for me. I mean, you look at someone like CJ O’Donnell. He led our team after the first two events. Now, after stumbling with his mentoring and matchup last week… he stands in tenth. Daniela Raye-Weathers, one of the most amazing talents in the world… started out rough and has had to work like hell just to keep her spot in the middle of the pack. And then there’s me, with Eli Buchanan and Jacoby Spencer breathing down my neck for the leading position. That’s what I mean, Jessica. One bad day – one or two bad events – and it all just…
Selena snaps her fingers.
Selena: Disappears. One slip. And the knowledge that I can’t afford to slip up. That I can’t afford to give anything less than my best each week. Like I said: It’s ‘do or die’ here and to be on my own… it’s a challenge I’ve never felt before, but one that I need.
Jessica nods her head.
Winters: Alright, but I noticed one particular name you didn’t mention, Selena, which sort of leads me to my next question. Last week, you won the challenge in raising the most amount of money for your charity, but the matchup you had with Felicia Lorraine was not without some controversy.
Selena’s jawline tightens but she remains silent.
Winters: And social media has been on fire ever since, talking about the meddling of Jessie Lee – that she sabotaged your training with Felicia, sabotaged your match, all in an attempt to eliminate you from the competition. Have you had a chance to confront Lee since?
Selena spine stiffens, her posture a bit more regal.
Selena: I have wanted to, Jessica. Believe me. I’ve wanted nothing more than to drag that woman – if I can call her that – by the hair into the ring and make HER fight me. But the officials, Sauce Boss included, have opted to keep us separated for the good of the series and-
??: Oh yes. For the good of the series...
Both women stare off camera and Selena is immediately on her feet, standing in front of Winters, as, speak of the devil, Jessie Lee, saunters into the shot. She is dressed in leather pants and a ripped shirt, the TIA Women’s Championship on her shoulder. She eyes Selena before turning her attention to Jessica.
Lee: You. Take a long walk. I’ll finish the interview here.
Winters: I am not-
Lee: Walk or be dragged out. Your call.
Winters is about to object before Selena shoots her arm in front of her friend.
Selena: Just go, Jessica.
Winters: Are you sure?
Selena: Head back to the hotel. I’ll call you when this is done.
Slowly, hesitantly, Winters does as she is told, leaving the two women alone. Lee gives a very pleased smirk before plopping down in a seat.
Lee: I’d say we’ve got about five minutes before security is called by your friend and we get interrupted. So… let’s talk.
Slowly, Selena returns to her seat.
Lee: This was bound to happen, right?
Selena: Yes.
Lee: You and me? Cause I beat you for this title? You haven’t liked me at all since that day. And I haven’t liked you.
Selena: Except I’m not sabotaging you here. I’m just beating you so far.
Lee: Sabotaging? Oh you mean lil’ Felicia? Yeah… that was sad.
Lee laughs a little.
Lee: You want me to admit it? Fine. Yeah, I made that brat an offer. It was easy. She was desperate for any kind of shortcut to fame. All she had to do was take you out. Didn’t happen. But I got what I wanted.
Selena: And what was that?
Lee: For you to know what I am capable of. What I am willing to do to win this competition and drive you out of it. So, here’s the next question. Do you really think you have a chance? There’s a reason I’ve got this…
She taps the title on her shoulder.
Lee: And there’s a reason I’ve been able to play you this whole time. I do things you can’t or won’t do. I go to places you won’t go. So why stay here? Why don’t you do us all a favor and leave? I mean think about it for one second! Where’s your alliance with CJ and Daniela? Where are they? Little more than middle-ground fillers now! You think Eli and Jacoby will listen to you knowing that I’m coming for them? You think Penelope or anyone will sympathize after watching what ‘associating with you’ did to Felicia?
Lee shakes her head, switching her stance to lean forward towards Selena.
Lee: You’re bad luck, Frosty. You know it and I know it. And no one wants you here. So why don’t you just leave?
For a moment, Selena is silent until she suddenly pushes herself to her feet, the action causing Lee to do the same.
Selena: You want to know why I don’t just leave?
She tilts her head.
Selena: Because that’s what you want. And I don’t really feel like giving you anything that you want. Because why would I let myself be beaten by a woman that hides behind weapons and backstage deals? Why would I hide from a woman too afraid to fight me on her own, so she sends some rookie to do her dirty work for her. Yeah… you’ve got me on a few occasions, but you said it yourself, I’ve seen how far you’re willing to go. Thing is… as ‘far as you’re willing to go’? You still can’t get rid of me. But me? You’ve no idea what I am capable of or how far I am willing to go to get what I want.
She holds up a finger to silence Lee as the TIA Women’s champion tries to speak.
Selena: And I will make it very clear what I want, Lee. I want to win this tournament. And not just for me, anymore, but also because that is the one thing that will piss you off more than me just beating your cowardly ass!
Selena takes a slow breath as she lowers her hand.
Selena: And if I can’t… if I can’t win this tournament – if I do have to go down. Then…
She glares daggers into Lee’s eyes, refusing to back down.
Selena: Then you better believe that nothing will stop me from taking you down with me! Believe it!
The camera stays on the two girls before suddenly cutting to black.
