Zara ran her hand over her recently buzzed head before she shook it, looking towards her cousin and new manager, Tala. The red-head sitting beside her in the hotel room was looking through her phone, trying to find the name of the new wrestler that Z was soon set to work with for a couple of days at the Champions Advantage Performance Center before the pair headed out to meet her at the center. She heard her cousin suck in a breath, and she assumed that she had found the name. ”Who’s the up-and-comer, Tala? I don’t know if that’s a good reaction or not.” Tala bit her lip for a second before she looked over to Zara to answer her. ”Camila Ortiz…isn’t she the cousin of one of the assholes that messed with Ollie and the Queens in Zion earlier this year?” Zara glanced over at her cousin’s phone, seeing the name and picture of the young wrestler before a grin came to her face. ”Yep…that’s her. This is going to be fun.” The pair left the hotel room to head to the performance center to meet up with the young wrestler.

The Divata women arrived at the performance center, and Zara saw the others from the contest doing their thing. When she saw a young blonde sitting by herself, she knew that must have been Camila, so she walked up to her with an air of cautiousness, knowing how the young woman’s cousin was and worrying they may be similar. ”Camila, I’m guessing? Looks like we’re going to be working together for the Make-A-Wish event in a couple of days.” The young woman looked up at Zara with a small smile and nodded a little. ”Yeah…that’s me. I know who you are; it’s nice to meet you, Zara. Um…also, I know what my cousin and his friends put you and your friends through a few months ago…I promise that I don’t have the same attitude in the ring as he does, but I also understand if you don’t believe that.” Camila seemed sincere in her words, but Zara had heard sincereness such as that before only for it to be twisted around.
Zara and Tala exchanged a look with each other, unsure if they really trusted the young woman sitting in front of them. Z gave her cousin a nod, and the other woman walked off to go take care of whatever needed to be dealt with for the event on Zara’s end while Zara sat down next to Camila. ”Look, I’ll be honest with you, Camila. I’m very leery of you because of him. I realize that you’re not your cousin, and you seem to have a much more cheerful attitude than he does. However…he helped put my friends through Hell and helped attack my best friend’s fiance. You’ll have to forgive me if I’m a little less than believing of something that comes out of the mouth of one of his family members.” Camila frowned but nodded in understanding. If the roles were reversed, she couldn’t say that she’d feel any different than Zara did. ”No…I totally get that, Zara. I’d probably feel the same way if I were you. Hopefully this event can change that though because you’re someone I respect in this business whether my cousin and his friends like it or not.” Zara gave Camila a questioning look before she shrugged and let out a small sigh. ”Alright…I’m willing to give you the benefit of the doubt, Camila. Let’s see what we’re working with.” The scene faded out as the two headed towards an unoccupied practice ring.

The day before the Make-A-Wish event, Zara was taking part in a presser about it, trying to garner more eyes on it. She had been taking part in photo-ops left and right, meeting with fans, and signing autographs. The Filipino woman had just sat down in the middle of her cousin and Camila Ortiz to answer some questions about the wrestling part of the event that was set to take place the next day when the questions immediately started pouring in. Having had experience with it before, Zara took the lead and pointed to a reporter near the front of the group. ”Zara, you haven’t exactly had the best luck of late in your matches. How are you feeling going into this event tomorrow?” Z licked her lips and sighed, choosing her words carefully before she answered. ”Have I been a little down on my luck lately? Yeah, but we all go through spurts of wins and losses. It doesn’t make me any less of a badass than I know I am, so I’m feeling pretty decent going into tomorrow.” Zara watched as those in attendance nodded and began murmuring before more hands went up.
The veteran of the pair looked at Camila and gave the young woman a little nod, encouraging her to choose someone. Shyly, Camila pointed to a reporter in the back of the small crowd, and she stood up to ask her question. ”Ms. Ortiz, what has your cousin said about you facing a member of the group that he and his friends had issues with only a few months ago in Zion Wrestling?” Camila inwardly face palmed a bit, hoping the topic of her cousin wouldn’t come up though she should have known that it would. ”Well…I wouldn’t know what Miguel has to say as I haven’t spoken to him about it. Our careers are separate, so I haven’t discussed anything that I have planned with him. No matter how he and the rest of The Void feel about Zara and the Queens of Chaos, I have respect for her and a lot of the other Queens as well.” A few nods and whispers dispersed among the crowd, and while Camila was a little leery of taking any more questions, she decided to do just that.
Pointing to someone in the middle, the rookie waited patiently for the question to be asked. ”Camila, since Zara has been asked already, how are you feeling going into this match? Zara does have quite a few years of experience over you, after all.” Ortiz glanced over at Zara with a light smile before she turned her attention back to the reporter and began to answer. ”Well this is my first semi-professional match…if you would call it that. I was honored when my trainer asked me to be a part of this event for the Make-A-Wish foundation because I’m all about giving back to those in need. I love kids, so getting to put on a show for them is just an added bonus to all of it, too. So I guess, what I’m trying to say is that I feel pretty decent going into it. I know facing Zara won’t be an easy task, but I’m definitely up for the challenge tomorrow.” Before anything more could be said, Tala leaned forward to speak into one of the microphones, a bright yet apologetic smile on her face. ”I’m sorry ladies and gentlemen, but Zara and Camila have to get going. They’ve had a busy day, and they still have some things to take part in. But please, put the word out and come to the show tomorrow. It’s going to be a Hell of an event!” With that, the two women nodded their heads in agreement before standing up, shaking each other’s hands while pictures were snapped for the reporters’ stories.
