For months, Zara Ivory had been anticipating the start of the 2nd World Series of Wrestling. What she hadn’t expected was for it to turn into Last Man Standing. Knowing that she was due to be picked up soon, the green-haired Filipino had decided to go to Hayesville, North Carolina to visit her cousin for a few days. Normally she would have had her fiance join her in visiting her cousin and future cousin in-law, but the young woman knew that she was going to be going from Hayesville to wherever the competition would be held. In the long run, she didn’t want to put Marcus in an awkward position by him being left with Marley and Samuel when she left. It wasn’t her style to do that sort of thing to him, even if they were closest to the other couple out of everyone else in her family.

It went without saying that Zara’s last day with Marley and Samuel was emotional, at least on Marley’s end of things due to her pregnancy hormones. The trio were sitting in the home’s living room, a few random Halloween decorations already sprinkled throughout the home…although, the Friday the 13th coffee table that Samuel had surprised Marley with really felt like the ultimate decoration.
Marley Divata: ”You’re going to be gone for months?! But they’re letting you still attend to your other obligations, right?”
Zara Ivory: ”Right…it’s for 3 to 4 months, but I’ll sti-”
Marley Divata: ”What does Marcus think of this? That’s going to derail wedding planning for you guys a little bit. But what about when Hiraya is born? And what about mine and Samuel’s wedding next month…will you be able to be there for everything?”
Zara sighed softly and looked over to Samuel for a bit of help in calming her cousin. She gave the man a thankful smile when he began rubbing Marley’s shoulders in an effort to calm the very pregnant woman down.
Zara Ivory: ”Marcus is alright with it…he knows he’ll see me at the XIX show, and he usually comes to the Zion and NFW shows that I’m booked at. I’ll see him then, and I can still look through wedding planning stuff while I’m at the compound. Plus you know I wouldn’t miss your wedding for the world, Mar. I’ll be there no matter what. And I’ll be at the hospital waiting for you to bring little Hiraya into this world, too.”
Marley Divata: ”I just don’t understand how you’ll be able to stil do everything and be available. And why do you have to be awya for so long? Did the competition change from last year or something? You didn’t have to be MIA when you did this thing then.”
Letting out another sigh, Zara ran her hands through her long hair, wincing a touch when she caught a knot that had formed at some point. Her gaze went to the floor by her cousin’s legs, seeing a giant, orange fluffball start weaving around her cousin’s legs. It didn’t surprise her that Krueger, the little Maine Coon kitten…well not so little anymore, had come out to be social. Marley carefully lifted the little furball into her lap, loving on him absentmindedly.
Zara Ivory: ”It’s something different this year, Marley. You know I can’t tell you anything more than that. But it’ll help all of us if I can win it this time. Just trust me, please…I know what I’m doing. It’ll be hard being away from everyone, but it’s something I’ve got to do.”
Before anything else could be said, there was a knock on the door. Glancing at her phone, Zara saw that it was almost noon thus time for her to head to the airport. She gave Marley a tight hug then turned to Samuel, giving him a light hug as well.
Zara Ivory: ”Take care of her like I know you always do…I’ll see you guys in a few days.”
Samuel nodded and gave Zara a thumbs up before she turned and walked to the door, opening it to come face to face with the chauffeur from Kayfabe Airlines.
Chauffeur: ”Right this way, Ms. Ivory. The car and plane are waiting to take you to the compound.”
Zara nodded then looked back at the couple behind her, giving them a smile before she walked out of the door and closed it.

The first day at the compound, Zara had honestly zoned out when she was being shown around and told where everything was. It wasn’t something that she had done on purpose, but her mind was running around a million miles an hour after the plane had landed. The young woman had gotten her things unpacked and gotten herself settled, deciding that she would explore a little bit. The green-haired woman exited her room on the blue team’s side of the lodging and stretched a bit, letting out a light groan in the process.
Zara Ivory: ”Well…I guess I have time to explore the grounds a little while I wait for the others to arrive.”
The woman took a step, the heel of her knee-high, leather boots clicking against the pathway as she walked. She knew the grounds were enormous, having retained a little bit of the information that had been shared with her. The lodging areas were only 4 quite a few areas that were only part of the Villa.
Zara Ivory: ”Imagine if I won this year…all of this would be mine in the end of things. This would set Marcus and I up for life. Hell, this would have the next couple of generations set-up for a while if things were run properly. We could even open a school or something to train the next generation.”
Zara continued walking around, taking in the sights of it all. She was glad that she had packed for summer temperatures given that the weather was rather warm, even for the month of September. The young woman sighed as she brushed some hair out of her face as she came up to the various restaurants and pools. Zara knew that she was there for a competition, but the atmosphere, at least for now, seemed almost too calm for what was in store.
Zara Ivory: ”Well I guess I can’t really think that when I don’t know what exactly is in store for all of us. This is so much different from the World Series of Wrestling last year…though I guess that could end up being a good thing for me. It could give me more of an edge throughout it all. After all…I can’t do much worse than last year since there’s not as many of us, right?”
Zara shrugged lightly to herself before she heard her phone ding. Brows furrowed, she grabbed it out of her shorts’ pocket and looked at the screen, seeing an unfamiliar number. Unlocking her phone, she selected the message, seeing it say, ”Blue Team, meet at The Arm Bar.” She looked around, giving another shrug before remembering that she had already passed by the location.
Zara Ivory: ”Looks like I’m heading back the way I came. Wonder who sent the text…obviously someone from the team. Oh well…it’ll be a good way to meet everyone and talk strategy, I guess.”
With that, Zara turned on her heel and began heading back the way she previously came from, excited for what was still to come. No matter what was to come, the woman knew that she was going to need to be as much of a team player as possible, whether she liked it or not. Truthfully, unless it was her family, Marcus, or the Queens of Chaos, she wasn’t much of a team type person, but she was going to have to get over that quite fast if she was planning on being the Last (Wo)Man Standing. If she could accomplish that then she knew that there was nothing else that would feasibly be out of her reach during the remainder of her career. After several minutes of walking, the Filipino wrestler reached her destination…The Arm Bar. She took a deep breath as she put her hand on the door.
Zara Ivory: ”Here goes nothing, I suppose. How bad can it be, after all? We may all be competing for the same prize, but we’re also all a team as well. We’ll work together while trying to be the absolute best of the best here.”
With that, the green-haired woman pushed the door open and made her way inside to join her teammates. To say Zara’s nerves were a little on edge would be a rather large understatement, but the woman had become quite skilled at hiding nervousness when she needed to do so. And boy did she need to do that now. As the door closed behind her, her eyes scanned the area, not really looking for her team at first, but rather wanting to take it all in before making her way to a group of people gathering around a couple of tables.
