This Is Awesome releases January 2022 rankings
This Is Awesome has released its first ever global rankings list, with triple champion Peter Vaughn taking out the top spot after a dominant month.
The January 2022 Unofficial TIA Global Rankings included a total of 415 wrestlers from 12 federations, ranking them based on key performance indicators.
A four-time world champion, Peter Vaughn currently holds the Thunder Pro Wrestling International Championship, the Pro Wrestling Valor World Championship and the XWF Universal Championship.
He defeated reigning PWV World Champion Matthew Knox at the Roth 3 Invitational to wrench the Raven’s beloved title away, and would follow this up by defeating Jim Caedus to claim the XWF Universal title at Hot and Cold 2022.
Vaughn’s 4-0 record propelled him to first place, ahead of Action Wrestling Women’s Champion Jessie Lee (5-1) in second and Level Up Multiplayer Champion Donny Mason (2-0) in third place.
Rounding out the top five were Action Wrestling superstars Claire Hawkins (3-0) and CJ Phoenix (3-0), who hold the CBS and United States Championships respectively.
Check out the full top 10 below:
1 Peter Vaughn 4 - 0
2 Jessie Lee 5 - 1
3 Donny Mason 2 - 0
4 Claire Hawkins 3 - 0
5 CJ Phoenix 3 - 0
6 Elijah Martin 3 - 0
7 Ash Blake 3 - 0
8 Centurion 3 - 2
9 Dionysus 2 - 1
10 Downfall 3 - 0
Dionysus has been a jack of all trades recently, competing in Action Wrestling, Level Up Wrestling, and now preparing to front up for Absolute Power Wrestling Organization.
He has held the AW Tag Team Championships with Downfall as The Vanguard since August, and claimed the LUW Courage Championship at Final Fantasy in December.
Speaking of AW, their tag team champions Aphable Azzumption (Aphriya Adler and Azurine Vebbins) had a great month, finishing 3-1 and taking up the 15th and 17th spots on the list.
Other big names featured in the top 100 included Griffin Hawkins (13th), Bert McAlroy (25), Matt Knox (27), Larry Tact (40), Betsy Granger (41) and Atara Themis (74).
Rankings were calculated based on wins/losses and current championships held, while winning streaks were also factored in.

The most unique wrestlers ranked
While the This Is Awesome January rankings recognised great achievements by a number of wrestlers most people would be familiar with, there were also some odd inclusions.
For instance a wrestler going by the moniker “The North Korean War Criminal” was ranked in 48th place with a 1-0 record.
Now I’m not going to get political in this piece (TIA would not endorse any political statements anyway), but it certainly leaped off the page when I was doing research for my list article.
So, with the encouragement of my lovely partner Lissie Hope, I decided to dig deeper and…I have questions.
48. North Korean War Criminal (1-0, Champion)
117. Frumious Benderstretch (1-0)
223. Bawn-Jorno (0-0)
246. Greg the Handyman (0-0)
260. Dick Powers (0-0)
272. Lil Juicy (1-2)
276. Latina Submission Machina (1-2)
333. MC C-Munqqquee (0-1)
384. Li’l Ca$h-App Dolla Billyunnai$$e (0-1)
Now this is not a slight against any of the wrestlers in the list, I’m sure they earned their spot…though I’m not exactly sure who or what number 384 is…?
Li’l Ca$h-App Dolla Billyunnai$$e if you’re out there, I’d love to chat to you - send me a DM!
