The scene fades in as it usually does and we find ourselves outside the Penthouse Suite that Candice Wolf-Page and her husband, Chris, had commandeered, threw a party and passed out last night. He adjusted his Rayban Stories glasses that he’d use to record her “Day in the Life of” segment for the WSOW event then he knocked on the door. After a few minutes the door opened and standing in the doorway was Chris Page.
You the camera guy? The guy nodded as Page opened the door. You’re a little early, I haven’t woken her up yet. He opened the door and turned around and made his way back through the room to the small kitchen area where there was a coffee maker finishing its brew and a tray with room service. He went about making the coffee. A couple of rules, one don’t look at her until she has this in her. He picked up the cup of coffee, showed it to the camera guy then placed it on the tray beside the blunt. He picked the tray up and led him over to the door leading to the bedroom. Two, don’t talk to her until she’s had the coffee.
My job is just to follow and not talk. He told Page.
Good. Page smiled a bit. You might survive this.
They walked into the bedroom, lit by the afternoon sunlight peeping in from around the blackout curtains and on the bed lost in a sea of white sheets is a lump and a mass of red hair on the pillow.
Morning, Love. Page said as he sat down the tray and made his way over to the curtains and opened one a little bit to let some sunlight in. A groan came from the lump as it began to stir a little. Page walked back over, picked up the cup of coffee and sat down on the side of the bed as VooDoo slowly started to pull herself up into a sitting position. Once she was sitting up, he handed her the coffee. I’ve got some good news and some bad news…
VooDoo put the cup of coffee to her lips and took a drink, as she did she slowly leaned sideways a little bit to look around her husband at the cameraman, then leaned back. Been a while since I’ve had to kill my own breakfast.
I see we’re going with the bad news first. Page chuckled a little. WSOW sent the cameraman over to shadow you for the day. Just pretend he’s not here even.
Like I told Mr Page, my job is to walk, not talk.
VooDoo narrowed her eyes as she looked around her husband again and then leaned back. It’s… speaking.. to me.
It will be alright. He reassured her.
There is still good news, right?
Yes, but It’s a surprise. He gave her a little wink before he leaned in and got a kiss.
Oh? I love surprises. Any clues?
You’ll find out at 7pm tonight.
VooDoo looked from around her husband one more time and whispered. Make it go away.
Page turned and looked at the cameraman trying not to laugh. Why don’t we meet you in the living room in a few. Let her get more… human.
The scene slowly fades to black… only to reappear moments later. For the camera guy who sat in the living room, it was over 30 minutes before the door to the bedroom opened and VooDoo and Page walked out. VooDoo’s whole demeanor had changed with her wardrobe and make up, he got pleasant feelings from her instead of murderous intent.
So, you’re just supposed to shadow me? Her only response was a nod of the camera. Okay, then, let’s get this show on the road. She turned to her husband and walked over and gave him a kiss. I will see you later on tonight..
Maybe…
Maybe my ass, there’s my surprise.
Just get going. He said and gave her a slap on the ass as she turned around.
You’ll pay for that, Mr. Page. She laughed over her shoulder.
I certainly hope so, Mrs. Page.
Do keep up. She said once they were in the hallway with the door closed. I would hate to have to eat you.
The scene slowly fades to black as the view pans down and rests on VooDoo’s ass for a moment…
…and then it slowly fades back in.
And we find ourselves in the VooDoo’s office at the Vegas Rabbit, VooDoo is sitting at her desk and seated in chairs before her are the different department managers. They have been going over last week’s business and the meeting was almost coming to a close.
Anyone have anything else they would like to talk about?
I would. Ms Dee, who ran the brothel, spoke up. I don’t mind the double paycheck, but the double hours are killing me.
I know, I know. VooDoo said. I’ve been wrapped up in this WSOW event and the day to day dealings with both places, I hadn’t really gotten on the ball with someone to run Rabbit Vegas. But I do have an idea of who I’m gonna talk to about it.
Austin?
Austin. She nodded. He’s been running the 4th floor in NY perfectly and there’s no doubt that he won’t do the same here. Hell, Vegas Rabbit’s about the size of the 4th floor put together. I’ll call him later on tonight.
And I will call you tomorrow and remind you until you do. Ms Dee said, bringing a few chuckles out of everyone. You wanna join me for tryouts today?
VooDoo turns to the cameraman. You want to see the tryouts? There is a nod to the camera and Voo looks back at everyone else. Anything else? There was a round of No Ma’ams and this meeting was called over.
The scene slowly faded to black as the camera began to follow VooDoo and Ms Dee down to the Velvet Rabbit Club…
…What was 3 hrs later, that included a couple stops to get a couple of shots from various bars on the way and a stop at the Chronic Choice Smoke Shop for some smoke and sitting through the first 11 dancer, was mere seconds for viewers, as the scene fades back in and we’re on the main floor with the single stage with the 2 story pole. VooDoo and Ms Dee were sitting in one of the VIP booths instead of in the seats around the stage, because as VooDoo put it; it was too damned early on a Monday to have someone’s stank snatch in her face. They were now on their 3rd drink and 2nd blunt with the cameraman caught up in that rotation. The 12th dancer had just taken the stage and as soon as she spun around. VooDoo's head snapped in Ms Dee’s direction.
Where is her ass? The camera guy snorted and a puff of smoke came into view. VooDoo looked at the camera. I am being serious here, you can’t give a lap dance with no ass. Ms Dee is curled up in her chair trying not to laugh as VooDoo calls for the DJ to cut the music. The dancer stopped and stood there for a moment. Honey… Because that was the dancer’s stage name… did you forget to bring your ass today? Ms Dee jumped up with her hand over her mouth and ran two steps, before she turned back around, and grabbed her drink and the blunt and took off running again; just as she reached the exit she busted out laughing, VooDoo called after her. Coward!
I don’t understand. The dancer said on the stage.
VooDoo looks at the camera. Of course, she doesn’t. She looks back at the dancer. I’m sure you’ve been to the Rabbit before and I’m sure you’ve seen that the dancers have asses. She paused for a moment before she went on. They are built a… certain way. And you aren’t built that way.
All of a sudden the dancer burst out crying and everything just came blubbering out of her; a single mother; just lost her job, struggling with no help from her baby-daddy. She was about to lose her apartment and her and her baby out on the streets. VooDoo looked back at the camera and mouthed the words “For fucks sake.”
Honey, c’mere. VooDoo motioned with her hand for the dancer to join her at the table; she handed her a napkin from the table to dry her eyes up. You know there are other positions here at the Rabbit that you could fill.
For the next hour, VooDoo talked with the dancer and found out that she indeed had experience in bartending and if it was something the Rabbit always needed besides Does and Bucks, it was bartenders and dealers. She took Honey up to the HR office and hooked her up with a job and had a check cut for her that she could work off in the coming weeks. Honey thanked her 1,000 times as she and VooDoo walked to the elevator, the whole time, VooDoo smiling and telling her it was nothing. When the elevator door closed, VooDoo dropped her smile and took a deep breath.
You’re a big softy underneath all them tattoos and red hair. VooDoo looked at the camera.
I swear, I will eat you.
Mhm..
For the next several hours, the cameraman kept up with VooDoo as she made her rounds at the nine open venues at the Rabbit; everything from the casino to walking the Shopping District at the Rabbit. She spoke with both patrons and employees alike to find out how their “Rabbit” experience has been. In her opinion, seeing and hearing for herself was the only way to make sure that everything was run the way she expected and where improvements could be made. At exactly 7pm, VooDoo’s cell phone rang, it was her husband. So, where’s my surprise?
There’s a car waiting for you outside. And he hung up.
Seems there’s a car waiting for us.
With VooDoo leading the way, they made their way down to the lobby of the hotel and just as soon as they hit the door, a limo driver was calling for her and opening the door for her.
Where are we going?
You’ll find out as soon as Mr Page calls again.
As if on cue, her phone rings again and Page is back on speakerphone. .
Still waiting on that surprise. She said with a smile as the limo pulled away from the curb and out into traffic.
You’re on the way to the airport, I got your schedule cleared for the rest of the week. He paused for a moment. Last night when the kids called, I could hear it in your voice you’re missing them… So, the jet's waiting to take you home. VooDoo was nothing but a huge smile. She’s smiling, isn’t she?
She’s smiling. Cameraman voice is heard.
I love you, Mr. Page.
I love you, too, Mrs Page. Have a great time, call me when you land.
Will do, love. She hung up the cell before she looked at the camera. If you want to go to Parts Unknown, you have to give me the glasses and your cell phone.
Hell yeah!
The scene slowly fades to black as we see him hand over his cell and reach up and turn off the camera.
You the camera guy? The guy nodded as Page opened the door. You’re a little early, I haven’t woken her up yet.
