The scene opens up with Lexi Gold sitting on a mountain top surrounded by mountains. The camera pans around the beautiful views before it zooms in and focuses on her. She stares into it and smiles.
“Why am I a wrestler? Everyone seems to have different answers when it comes to this topic, but for me, wrestling has been the most appealing to me. I've tried every job imaginable and while I loved them at first, overtime my interest would be lost, so I'd turn to wrestling to help me find the missing pieces to what I wanted out of life and looking back now I'm glad for my discovery.”
She smiles and feels a slight breeze brush through her hair and continues speaking.
“I may not have the longevity to brag about like most people do, but what I lack with that I make up for with my heart, consistency and determination to get better each and every week. During my early years of training I got told that I wouldn't last long as a wrestler due to the fact that I was slow, I complained a lot and my inability to listen to my trainers. However, deep down I knew if I wanted to be successful and grow as a person I had to change my ways, and I did.”
She gets up and walks around to collect more of her thoughts. She then looked down at the necklace that she is currently wearing around her neck and placed her hand on it.
“You know, before my grandma was alive and in human form rather than living inside my doll she gave me this necklace which was given to her by her mother, so it was passed down in the family you could say, but anyway I started wearing this to a lot of my training sessions and just in general when I hit a rough patch in my life physically and mentally, and it changed me for the better. My depression especially was less of a thing.”
“...I know she is aware of me wearing it when we are in the room together.”
“So, for those who see me wearing it on a constant basis, that is why. It holds a special meaning to me, and no one can take that away from me. Despite everything life has taught me. I'm glad that quitting wasn't an option. Look at the path it led me down. It led me down a path of championships that I've worked so hard in order to attain. Some are calling this year my Cinderella story due to my success, and that's fine. However, instead of finding a glass slipper, I found gold. You know what I am? *GRATEFUL*”
She nods her head, and tries to hold back some tears.
“I'm sure if anyone who walked in my shoes, will understand why this is so emotional for me. Now you may be wondering why I continue to wrestle, especially with all the vigorous pain that I've put my body through. Hell, not too long ago, my opponent decided to target my arm several times. I was able to finish the match despite losing my championship, but my arm was in so much pain.”
“The doctors checked it out and were concerned with it. At that moment, I thought to myself, I'm done. This could be an injury. My dreams may be put on hold. This thought process crushed me. Over time, I was beginning to see improvement with my arm, and the doctor came around again and told me it was nothing serious. The pain would eventually go away, and I could resume wrestling again. Words can't describe how happy I was to hear that. Wrestling is my life. I can't imagine life without, and now I'm given another chance at it, which means I will not take anything for granted as I continue to work harder towards my goals and be a better person.”
She tilts her head slightly.
“If I ever have children of my own someday, and they decide to follow in my footsteps of being a wrestler, I'll support them, tell them my story and guide them down the right path. As far right now, I'm doing *ME* things.”
She takes in more of a view of the scenery before turning on her heel and leaving as the scene fades.
