The opening riffs of the Brian May Band’s cover of the classic Rainbow hit ‘Since You’ve Been Gone’ blare over the sound system.
Coming out to the stage, MVW wrestler ‘Rock Star’ Robbie Marrs who very much looks the part of a rock and roller with long, curly black hair and a rock guitar. Marrs mimes strumming a guitar and singing while his two valets- Kathy and Shelley vamp behind him
I get the same old dreams, same time every night
Fall to the ground and I wake up
So I get out of bed put on my shoes and in my head
Thoughts fly back to the break-up
These four walls are closing in
Look at the fix you've put me in
Kathy and Shelley then mime the vocals…
Since you’ve been gone…
…and throw their heads back…
Since you’ve been gone…
…and do the ‘stop’ hand gesture to their left.
I'm out of my head, can't take it…
Could I be wrong
The girls throw their head back again…
Since you’ve been gone…
And do the ‘stop’ hand gesture to their right.
You cast the spell so break it
Marrs then hands his guitar to his ‘roadie’ and the company walk to the ring.

STORY
Biography (500 word max): ‘Rock Star’ Robbie Marrs is a latecomer to the pro wrestling world. Born Rob Martin, he wrestled in high school and then settled into a business career after college with a company his father owns. When Rob married Leah Thomas aka Missouri Valley Wrestling’s ‘Queen Cool’ Leah Iris in 2019, his interest in wrestling was rekindled.
Eventually, Marrs couldn’t ignore the wrestling bug so he attended a MVW tryout in the spring of 2020 and soon had himself a developmental deal. So Martin worked during the day at his ‘real’ job while at night he would workout in the gym. Then on weekends, he’d fly to St. Louis and work at Joe Bergman’s Barn outside of St. Louis for further training. The hard work soon paid off as Martin soon began working enhancement matches at MVW House shows. He impressed MVW Owner Ray McAvay enough that he offered Rob a spot on the roster. Of course, Rob accepted but he thought the name ‘Rob Martin’ didn’t have a whole lot to it. He took his concerns to Ray McAvay- McAvay suggested that he find a ‘niche’, a gimmick that would make him stand out from the others.
As luck would have it, Martin just happened to be home and binge-watching You Tube videos when he stumbled upon a Brian May Band cover of Rainbow’s classic ‘Since You’ve Been Gone’ from the early nineties. A long time rock fan and a huge fan of Queen, Rob immediately knew what he wanted to do. After talking to McAvay and Joe Bergman and absorbing and incorporating their advice, Rob Martin said goodbye and ‘Rock Star’ Robbie Marrs began his journey into pro wrestling stardom.
With his day job offering support and flexibility- it helped that his father ran the company- Marrs made his official MVW debut on January 15th, 2021 when he faced another young, up and coming pro wrestler named Adam Ellis. Marrs would defeat Ellis in his debut match and become a mainstay on the MVW roster spending time in MVW’s Heartland Division and a step below in their non-division. He would have a run in the spring that cumulated in Marrs winning the Men’s Heartland title from Darin Zion. His stay at the top would last just over a week before Hollywood Reality Star Ken Kardoucheian defeated Marrs for the Heartland title.
Marrs continues to be a top contender in MVW’s Men’s Heartland Division.
