18 EFED Match Tips & Strategies
General Match Strategy
1. Don't be afraid to lose, have an offensive philosophy going in and just worry about continuing your story arc.
2. Try to set the story of the match. Social media and segs are great ways to dictate the story of a match before the fight even begins. It's easier to fight someone if you've set the terms of the fight.
3. Focus on where you are stronger than your opponent. Don’t try to outshoot a strong shooter. Don’t try to be a bigger baby face that a big baby face. Don’t try to be a more sadistic than a monster.
4. Play to the level of your opponent. Take it easier against easy opponents. Or use those matches as an opportunity to test out something new. Save your best, proven, stuff for more difficult opponents.
5. Keep a cool head and remained confident. Don’t allow your opponent or followers to through you off your strategy. Don’t let them know when they’re getting under your skin. And never make the judges mad at you.
6. Compete until the results are released and publicly act like you’ve won up until it’s official that you haven’t.
7. When handler fatigue sets in, handle it privately. Ask for help in a private message instead of an OOC social media post.
8. Always have a plan B. Your story should work whether you win or not. Every result is a set up for the next match. A loss isn’t the end, it’s a change of direction.
9. Be patient. Don’t get desperate. Things are never as good or as bad as you think they are. Be patient and wait to see how things turn out.

1. Write. Write as often as you can. Start writing early and make sure your word counts are in a competitive range.
2. Pay attention to your opponent, their recent match histories, and recent RP’s. Assume they’ve done the same for you.
3. Develop of strategy. Study your opponent carefully and develop an angle that targets a weakness. You need to make a case that your wrestler has the match all figured out.
4. Know the rules and limitations of your fed. Be willing to do more than what is required for your match. Doing the bare minimum usually isn’t a recipe for success
5. Set a personal goal and do not lose sight of your goals.

1. Acknowledge your opponents, shake hands, and sell the results of the match.
2. Get feedback about your roleplays.
3. Grade yourself on what worked and what didn’t.
